This year, 5774, is going to be a very special Sukkot at Westchester Torah Academy. Through the generous donation of one of the school families, WTA is now the proud owner of a brand new and extremely large sukkah! Over the years, WTA has made their home in numerous locations, enjoying being hosted in local sukkot and then borrowing sukkot to build on the new campus. Each of those years gave WTA the opportunity to show immense hakarat hatov to the hosts, while helping them fulfill the mitzvah of inviting guests into the sukkah. Now, on the campus that is WTA’s permanent home, the school will finally have a temporary home to fit everyone for our favorite nomadic holiday. To the anonymous donors, thank you! Everyone is looking forward to many years of Chol Hamoed lunches, snacks and parties, thanks to your generous gift.
WTA has always been proud to stay open on Chol Hamoed Sukkot—the intermediate days are set aside for chesed, simcha and enjoying the beautiful autumn weather. This year, WTA will host a Simchat Beit Hashoeva to celebrate Sukkot in style. The Vaad Horim has organized a fabulous event with music, food and some big inflatables, and at the center of it all, the brand new Sukkah, built and decorated by WTA students.
