In anticipation and preparation for Yom Kippur, the SAR Academy first grade started a tzedaka project. The goal of this project is to teach the importance of this mitzvah and to raise money for specific organizations that the children will choose. This semester, the children will raise money for the Children’s Hospital in Israel in memory of their teacher Morah Sonia’s beloved sister z”l who was a nurse in this hospital and saved many children’s lives. The students created and decorated tzedaka boxes to take home and one tzedaka box for each classroom. Everyone is looking forward to participating in this important initiative.
