BPY Students Learn About Light

This past week, BPY’s pre-k students are continuing to learn, explore, research, investigate and have fun with Parshat Bereishit. While learning about day number one, Gan Rina conducted an experiment with light. The children were presented with different objects made out of glass, wood and plastic. As each object was presented to them, the students were asked to predict whether the object is transparent—light will pass through the object, or opaque—light will not pass through at all. The objects were then divided based on their predictions and tested as students then shined a flashlight on each of the objects. The children were amazed to see their results. They learned that objects made out of glass are transparent, some objects made out of plastic are transparent, and all wood objects are opaque.
