Ramaz students and alumni set up the “Empty Shabbat Table” exhibit in Times Square this past Thursday with 224 empty chairs and high-chairs for all of the missing hostages who were absent from their homes for yet another Shabbat. This exhibit raised awareness about the plight of the hostages currently held in Gaza by Hamas. By setting up a beautiful Shabbat table, complete with dishes, glasses, wine and flowers, students felt the impact of the current situation and made a difference to the thousands of New Yorkers who saw it.
