The Jewish Link of New Jersey and Gotham Burger would like to recognize seven year old Ryan Teller as this week’s Sportstar of the Week. The Yeshivat Noam second grader is coming off a terrific AIFL flag football spring season. Ryan was the Steelers MVP when he led them to the semifinals of their division. Some would say he was the league MVP for the K-1 division. Teller plays all sports and loves playing with his siblings. His favorite professional teams are the Mets, Rangers and Jets.
Ryan, who is you role model and why?
My Uncle David because he loves to play sports just like me.
Who is your favorite Pro athlete and why?
Yoenis Cespedes because he hits a lot of home runs.
What is your pregame routine, if you have one?
I put my uniform on and make sure to practice before each game.
What is your earliest sport memory?
Running the bases with Mr. Met at Citi Field after a Mets game.
Looking back what is your funniest sports memory?
In Flag Football, I was running for a touchdown when my flag belt fell down and tripped me.
What is your favorite sports memory?
Scoring a touchdown on the last play of the game against the Colts in Flag Football by running the length of the entire field.
What is your favorite thing to do when you are not playing sports?
Watching my friends play.
What is the best thing about being a Sportstar?
I love playing sports.
