(Ohr Yisroel) Ohr Yisroel athletics witnessed an historic night featuring wins in both basketball and hockey. First, the varsity basketball team defeated Ramaz on a buzzer beater by Reuven Rozehzadeh. Yirmi Gross brought the game to a last minute tie scoring the last of his 26 points before Rozehzadeh scored an epic layup to bring his total to 27 and win the game.

Remarkably, Rozehzadeh was just getting started. In the next game of the evening, Ohr Yisroel took on North Shore in a varsity hockey game. Here too, Ohr Yisroel was victorious, in a game that was highlighted by a hat trick from none other than Rozehzadeh. It was perhaps the first time in Yeshiva League history that one player scored a buzzer beater to win a basketball game and then went on to complete a hat trick in the same evening. Rozehzadeh’s efforts were complemented by four assists from Aiden Petak and an additional goal from Shalom Miller.

The Ohr Yisroel athletic department, and the entire yeshiva, was truly energized by the momentous performances.
