The Naaleh students enjoyed a weekend of meaningful connection and self-reflection at Naalehton 2023 in the Hilton Parsippany. Themed “Road to Respect,” the shabbaton explored different aspects of kavod (honor), both bein adam l’chaveiro and bein adam l’makom.
On Erev Shabbos, the school heard from Rabbi Lawrence Hajioff and then enjoyed a visit to Funplex. Shabbos at the hotel kicked off with a beautiful Kabbalas Shabbos followed by a delicious seuda alive with zemiros. The evening continued with a faculty panel about personal connection to Israel and onegs and ruach galore.
On Shabbos day, the students participated in interactive workshops on the topic of kavod, with optional programming post-lunch. After Havdala, there was a grade vs. grade competition, followed by a lively melave malka. The next morning, each student left with a new Eagles sweatshirt, a tangible reminder of the shabbaton’s warmth to carry them through the rest of the year, with pocketfuls of memories to last a lifetime.
