Following the tragic events of October 7 over 300,000 Israelis were called up for reserve duty. Amongst those who returned to serve were members of the SAR Academy family including two of our dedicated and beloved morim, ELC Ivrit teacher Michael Turjeman serving on the northern frontlines in the Carmeli division of the Golani Brigade, and fourth-grade teacher Assaf Diamant who re-joined his battalion. After weeks of being away from their families and students, with gratitude to Hashem, students celebrated the safe return of Moreh Michael and Moreh Assaf from war. Everyone gathered as a school community “on the steps” to welcome them back and thank them for their service. Students welcomed them each with a lively parade featuring Israeli flags and students cheering. Everyone is praying for the safety and success of our chayalim who ensure our safety and freedom.
