A Motzei Shabbat Chanukah performance by the Maccabeats, the a cappella group that launched at Yeshiva University in 2007 and has taken the Jewish community by storm, drew a full house of roughly 500 people to the Highland Park High School auditorium on Dec. 9, Cosponsored by Congregation Ahavas Achim of Highland Park and the Rabbi Pesach Raymon Yeshiva of Edison, the concert brought together people from different shuls and age groups for a night of spirited singing, dancing and a welcome sense of achdut at a historic moment when that togetherness is most welcome.
