The new 2016-17 school year is off to a great start at the Rae Kushner Yeshiva High School! The energy was palpable as the students and faculty reconnected with one another after the summer break. Students participated in a spirited school-wide opening assembly where they watched a welcome-back video and slideshow of highlights of the past year, learned tips for a successful school year from Randy Nathan, renowned coach, author and motivational speaker who facilitates compelling empowerment programs for teenagers, helping them foster good choices, enhanced motivation and increased confidence and self-esteem. They also heard words of inspiration and chizuk for a successful year from Head of School Rabbi Eliezer Rubin. Students enjoyed a ruach-filled lunch chagigah, and Grades 10 through 12 got acquainted with their new schedules as they begin another inspiring year.
RKYHS was excited to welcome its Freshman Class—which includes 90 percent of last year’s eighth grade from JKHA—to the Class of 2020. Freshmen took part in special programming to help them adjust to high school, including ice breakers, meeting with peer leaders, a dedicated freshman orientation and sessions on transitioning to high school that included tips and helpful information from Randy Nathan.
