While our enemies are marching through the streets of Teaneck chanting their hateful words, the majority of events in support of Israel are inside shul or community center buildings. When was the last time the Jewish community had a public gathering outside? The recent public gathering the night before the THS walkout was reactionary in nature. We showed up in droves in reaction to the Teaneck BOE meeting. When was the last time we were proactive? When was the last time we gathered outside in Votee Park to say Tehilim and hear words of Torah and chizuk? I understand how burdensome the war has been on CSS, local, county, state and sometimes federal law enforcement, but surely we can work together to gather peacefully in support of Israel and the hostages.
There are weekly “Bring Them Home” gatherings in Central Park and Long Island. Bergen County should be doing the same.
