Chabad of West Orange will be hosting a special Shabbat dinner on Friday, January 19, in honor of the auspicious occasion of Yud Shevat.
Yud Shevat holds great significance for the Chabad community as it marks the day that the Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, of righteous memory, assumed the leadership of the Chabad-Lubavitch movement in 1951. It is a time to reflect on his teachings and legacy, and the impact he has had on countless lives around the world. It is also the date of passing of the previous Rebbe, Rabbi Yosef Y. Schneerson, zt”l in 1950.
The dinner will feature a delectable menu showcasing traditional Shabbat delicacies that will delight your taste buds. In addition to the scrumptious food, there will be inspiring words of Torah, uplifting melodies, and the opportunity to connect with fellow community members and friends. The event will be hosted by Altie and Rabbi Mendy Kasowitz, directors of Chabad West Orange.
On Friday, January 19, candle lighting will be at 4:40 p.m., followed by evening services. Dinner will begin at 5:45 p.m. at Chabad of West Orange, 401 Pleasant Valley Way, West Orange, NJ 07052. Reservations are requested by Wednesday, January 17 at noon.
