On the first day of the new school year, Yeshiva University High School for Boys (MTA) celebrated the much anticipated 100th anniversary of its establishment in 1916. After Shacharit in Lamport Auditorium, the student body was treated to a sneak peek at the brand new Centennial Launch video. Students were then privileged to hear from Rabbi Dr. Josh Joseph, senior vice president of Yeshiva University, who has been instrumental in giving MTA the ability to take advantage of the many YU resources and facilities and assisting the high school in numerous other ways. Rabbi Joseph then noted how at MTA there are many avenues that one can choose from in order to develop as a Ben Torah. Finally, he introduced a new chant in honor of MTA’s 100th birthday. At the conclusion of the program, Rabbi Kahn formally greeted the students, welcoming them to yeshiva for another great year in which all will strive to continue to get better and better.
Once dismissed, students were invited to partake of a delicious spread of cupcakes adorned with the Centennial logo which was awaiting them in the lobby. Additionally, bluetooth speakers were distributed to all as a special birthday gift!
