Camp Kaylie Basketball Clinic Held at JCOT

On Sunday, September 11, from 1:30 to 3:30pm, Camp Kaylie held a basketball clinic at the Jewish Center of Teaneck for current and prospective campers in grades 4 thru 8. The clinic was run by Elliot Steinmetz, the head coach of the YU MACS basketball team and a proud Kaylie parent. The event was topped off with cool dry-fit basketball warmup shirts for all and a visit from the ice cream truck. Camp director, Rabbi Eli Brazil, was also on hand to speak with the campers and answer questions about why Camp Kaylie is such an amazing place to be.

When asked about the event Rabbi Brazil told The JLNJ, “What a truly special event. Prospective and current campers had a chance to get to know each other while hearing all about what an amazing place Camp Kaylie is. They were also able to learn some basketball skills from the coach of Yeshiva University’s basketball team, which was incredible.”

When asked about what makes Camp Kaylie special, Avi Rosalimsky, event organizer and assistant division head for the middle division said, “Camp Kaylie is truly unique because it synthesizes being growth-oriented and Torah-centered on the one hand with very serious, competitive sports and unbelievable activities on the other hand. The camp caters to campers of all different abilities, in a safe and extremely fun environment. I truly believe that Moshiach is coming from a place like Camp Kaylie.”

Registration opened for new Kaylie campers on September 15, and any attendee that signs up before Sunday, September 18, will be guaranteed a spot. After that, no spot can be guaranteed. There is a $50 early bird discount for those who sign up before October 14. To register or for more information, go to www.campkaylie.org
