Stand-Up for the Arts 2024: A Night of Laughter and Community Support This Feb

(Courtesy of Kaplen JCC on the Palisades) Kaplen JCC on the Palisades in Tenafly is thrilled to announce the highly anticipated Stand-Up for the Arts 2024, an extraordinary evening dedicated to celebrating the healing power of laughter and the profound impact of the arts within our community. This special event, headlined by the charismatic Michael Rapaport alongside special guests Sarge the comedian and Olga Namer, promises an unforgettable night of entertainment and support for a meaningful cause.

The night is presented through the generosity of the Kaplen Foundation. Net proceeds from the event will support arts and cultural programs for all ages at the Kaplen JCC, including the immediate needs of art therapy for children affected by the Israel-Hamas War and an upcoming JCC Community Theatre production educating about antisemitism.

Thousands of people each year benefit from the exceptional arts experiences offered by the Kaplen JCC, whether dancing or acting in youth productions, learning painting or memoir writing as an adult, taking photography classes as a senior, and many other programs. The Kaplen JCC provides financial assistance to hundreds of individuals and families each year to eliminate barriers to accessing these life-changing programs.

“The arts are an integral part of the soulful heartbeat of the Kaplen JCC community. They are not just performances and exhibits, but rather threads that weave together the rich fabric of our collective identity, inspiring joy, understanding and a profound sense of belonging for all who enter through our doors,” said Steve Rogers, chief executive officer. “Whether it is the fine arts, music, dance, or drama, the arts encourage expression, serve as communal experiences that bring people together, offer opportunities for education and skill development, and improve mental well-being.”

This special event will take place Feb. 10 at 7 p.m. at Kaplen JCC on the Palisades, 411 E. Clinton Ave., Tenafly.
