On Wednesday during lunch, over 30 Yeshiva University High School for Boys (MTA) 12th graders had the incredible opportunity of participating in the first “Names, Not Numbers” seminar, introducing this unique elective class in which the boys will interview Holocaust survivors and ultimately make a documentary movie presenting their stories. The students were privileged to hear opening remarks from MTA Rosh Yeshiva, Rabbi Michael Taubes, as well as new Head of School, Rabbi Joshua Kahn, both of whom spoke about this wonderful program and how a group of high school seniors can do something which will have an impact all over the world. Following their speeches, the students watched a short video about one particular survivor and her family. When the video was over, Mrs. Tova Rosenberg, founder and head of the “Names, Not Numbers” program, gave a short lecture and outlined the course and what each individual student will be doing. The students were extremely excited to participate in the special program.
