Send packages to Israel’s impoverished, elderly, soldiers, evacuees and friends.

(Courtesy of Torat Reva Yerushalayim) Torat Reva Yerushalayim, a non-profit organization based in Jerusalem will once again be preparing mishloach manot/matanot l’evyonim packages which will be delivered to the neglected and homebound elderly of Jerusalem. The packages will include healthy snacks, gifts and Purim treats.

Their goal is to prepare a minimum of 400 packages!

The packages that Torat Reva Yerushalayim delivered over the last 16 years to Jerusalem’s elderly were the only gift packages that these individuals received!

According to the Rambam in his Mishneh Torah: “Gifts for the poor deserve more attention than the seuda (festive meal) and mishloach manot because there is no greater, richer happiness than bringing joy to the hearts of needy people, orphans, widows and proselytes.”

A donation of $18 covers one package, $180 covers packages for an entire floor of a nursing home.

As well, they will be preparing large mishloach manot baskets which will be shared by the border patrol soldiers protecting Jerusalem. The soldier baskets are $54.

Due to the war, Torat Reva Yerushalayim will be putting together mishloach manot for families who have been evacuated from the north and south. Mishloach manot for the evacuated families are $36.
