The Friends of Lubavitch of Bergen County will celebrate their 16th annual benefit on this Sunday, March 10 with a 5:00 p.m reception and 6:00 p.m.dinner at the Woodcliff Lake Hilton in Woodcliff Lake
This year their guests of honor are Dr. Binny and Shira Hahn and Joe and Judy Leffel. Mendy and Deena Segal are Preschool Parents of the Year. Entertainment will be Mind Games by Marc Salem.
The Hahns have lived in Teaneck since 2004, except for a brief stint in Boca Raton in 2009. Binny is an ER doctor at Staten Island University. Shira, is a full-time homemaker and their five children at Yeshivat Noam in Paramus.
Joe Leffel is the son of Holocaust survivors who was raised in Brooklyn. He is o a graduate of Brooklyn College and took some graduate courses at Adelphi School of Social Work. Joe started out by working for the Hasidic division of Ohel, and changed careers to Information Technology. He’s a Project Manager in I.T. at Hackensack University Medical Center. Judy worked for Rabbi Zager, her Chabad rebbe at the Monsey Swim School. The couple—who met through an ad in local newspapers—were married at the Teaneck Chabad House. This is a second marriage for both and they have four children between them.
Mendy and Deena Segal, the Pre-School Parents of the year, are Teqneck residents of Teaneck and members of Young Israel. Mendy is a pharmacist and CEO of Pharmscript, a pharmacy that specializes in providing services for long-term care facilities. He is active in a number of civic and charity organizations and is on the Board of Yavneh Academy. Deena is a stay at home mom who loves to volunteer for chesed opportunities and likes to arrange shiduchim. They have three children who attend Yavneh Academy.
