Gan Kochavim introduced a new unit in winter, which was perfect timing with the really cold weather this week. The children learned that snow is good for some plants and animals, because it protects the ground from the cold and the wind. They also learned that snowflakes have siz sides—but they each look different! Each of us made his or her own snowflakes for the bulletin board. Gan Kochavim worked really hard, gaining control over scissors and strengthening the hand muscles, building the strong fine motor skills which are important for writing and many other future life skills. The unit ended with a pajama party on a snowy day and everyone enjoyed hot chocolate with cookies.
