The Jewish Link of New Jersey and Gotham Burger would like to recognize ten year old Samantha Pruzansky as this week’s Sportstar of the Week. The ten year old Yeshivat He’Atid 5th grader is taking MGBL by storm. In the first two weeks of the season, Pruzansky has been omnipresent on defense, and is one of the league’s top scorers.
Samantha, congrats on a great start to the season. Who is your role model and why?
My ‘Granna’ is my role model because she is pretty, has a good taste in fashion and is a very nice person.
Who is your favorite athlete and why?
My favorite athlete is Simone Biles because she won gold for team USA and can do really amazing flips in the air.
What is your pregame routine?
I like to exercise and I like doing pushups.
What is your earliest sport memory?
Going on jogs with my dad when I was little.
What is the funniest thing that happened to you while playing sports?
Trying to weight lift weights that were heavier than me.
What is your favorite sports memory?
When I came in first place two years in a row at the Yeshivat He’Atid Fun Run race.
What is your favorite thing to do when you are not playing sports?
I like to write and illustrate stories and create musical.ly videos with my little sister Nicole.
What is the best thing about being a Sportstar?
I like scoring a lot of points for my team and I like getting picked one of the first when teams are made in school.
