Tenafly Chabad Academy’s eighth-grade students are immersing themselves in the captivating realm of physics, where they explore the fundamental principles that govern the universe. The students tackled the egg drop challenge. They were guided by Newton’s laws of motion, which they have diligently studied in preparation for this project, in both physics and STEM classes. Through hands-on experimentation, they applied Newton’s three laws of motion. They dropped an egg, which they had encased in various protective materials, down one flight of stairs. Most of their eggs did survive unscathed. This classic yet exhilarating activity not only reinforced their understanding of physics concepts but also cultivated their critical thinking, problem-solving and teamwork skills as they designed and tested contraptions to protect fragile eggs from the forces of gravity.
