This production is truly a horse of a different color! Last year, students brought audiences on a magical trip to Neverland with “Peter Pan” and down the rabbit hole with “Alice in Wonderland.” Now, in its second year, He’Atid Drama is taking viewers over the rainbow with a brilliant performance of “The Wizard of Oz.” Over 40 actors from grades three to six join forces to create He’Atid’s biggest production yet.
Under the incomparable directorship of Kathy Stout and Elliot Guerra, the actors have learned the basics of performance arts, from stage movement to character analysis, anatomy of theater to dialogue and diction, all while having fun! Students from this after-school chug have been involved with every facet of the production—including staging, set design and costume creation—and their hard work has yielded a performance with courage, brains and heart.
Both Yeshivat He’Atid families and the community at-large are welcome at Ma’ayanot Performing Arts Center on March 3. Tickets are on sale now at www.Yeshivatheatid.org/drama
