LPS Enjoys  School on Chol Hamoed

Lubavitch on the Palisades School of Tenafly decided to have school days on October 19 and 20 this year. Typically, there are no sessions during Chol Hamoed but this year they wanted to try something new. All elementary and middle school students were treated to two days of trips, activities, and fun. Students in grades 5-7 went to Stony Hill Farm where they attempted to make it through a corn maze. It was a lot harder than they anticipated. Students in grades 1-4 enjoyed a magic show by Joe Fischer. Other activities included art, Zumba, Krav Maga, Computers, a Sukkah contest, and a big game of musical chairs. Lunch was enjoyed in the school sukkah. Jennifer Davis, Principal of General Studies says, “Many of our students don’t celebrate Sukkot with their families. Having school on these days enabled the students to have meals with their friends in the Sukkah while enjoying meaningful and enjoyable activities.” Many parents reported that when given the option, their children wanted to come to school for these days. A great time was had by all!
