Linking Northern and Central NJ, Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and CT

There was excitement in the middle school hallways late Wednesday afternoon as Moriah’s Color Games began. As the team generals were announced, students applauded and jumped up and down with happiness for their newly anointed friends who received their official T-shirts and clipboards. This year’s Color Games has teams Ruach (white), Adama (Green), Aish (red) and Mayim (blue) facing off against one another in multiple athletic, academic and artistic competitions. The contest, created and orchestrated by Rabbi Dov Levinson, began immediately as team members dashed to the shul in relay-race fashion to find their T-shirts and then participated in a Rock-Paper-Scissors match tournament which saw Team Aish emerge as the winner.

On Thursday, the students arrived in full team gear and were ready for the day’s teamwide competitions, which included Bucket Brigade, Sports Skills, Floor is Lava and Chidon. Up next are Minute to Win It and the Apache Relay along with song, stomp, video and art presentations by each team. Stay tuned to find out who wins!
