The Rapids hosted SKA last Thursday for opening night with lots of fans cheering them on. It was a very physical game but the Rapids prevailed. Freshman Esti Schreiber knocked in the first goal of the game and a second later in the game. Senior Captain Kayla Lowy scored two goals, with one assisted by Basya Israel. Sophomore Atara Gamss knocked in three goals for the Rapids, with two assists from sophomore Yael Saks. In the second period, freshmen Ayelet Siegel and Shayna Eizikovitz both scored with assists from sophomore Eva Yuster. Junior goalie Chana Spero had eight big saves. The final score was 9-0. Ma’ayanot looks forward to another good game when they face North Shore next.
