Through Herculean efforts of so many parents and volunteers, Yeshivat Noam had the opportunity to assist in helping our brothers and sisters in Israel. Each of the efforts started with a volunteer and the desire to implement their vision.
Linda Stock, YN grandparent, printed mishloach manot cards to raise money for BC Lev Echad. The second and third graders helped prepare the cards with a small package including treats for chayalim. This massive undertaking raised over $27,000 for BC Lev Echad, enabling Yeshivat Noam students to really make a difference.
YN parent Dovid Katz wanted to give students a hands-on way to help Israel during these challenging times. In conjunction with Israel Day, he coordinated a drive with Mrs. Lewin, student programming director of elementary school, to collect supplies for the IDF and displaced families in Israel. They partnered with BC Lev Echad who has been at the forefront of sending supplies to Israel. BC Lev Echad volunteers who devoted time to this effort included: Daniel Malka, Jason Langer and Yeshivat Noam parents Elana Koslowe, Jeffrey Rosenfeld and Ari Wartelsky. Additionally, Yad Leah kindly donated clothing from its warehouse to the initiative, and Evan “Yalli” Hakalir, CEO of Andy & Evan clothing manufacturers, donated as well. Fourth and fifth graders gathered on Israel Day to learn about BC Lev Echad, the power to make a difference and help with sorting, counting and packaging duffles for Israel.
One of the pillars of Yeshivat Noam’s mission—love of Eretz Yisrael—was actualized through this incredible, hands-on opportunity to help Am Yisrael.
