This past week was a very special one at Shefa’s lower school as Chesed Day took a central role. Students spent a significant amount of time preparing for Chesed Day, with the aim of improving both the Shefa School community and the greater NYC community. Through various in-house projects, students learned about the importance of chesed as a Jewish value and how they can make concrete contributions to it. As part of the day, students partnered with the following organizations: The Birthday Party Project, Save a Child’s Heart, Sephardic Bikur Cholim, Imadi and The Metropolitan Council on Jewish Poverty.
