Every child at RYNJ had the chance to participate in a school-wide mock election. The younger grades chose between red and blue and voted for their favorite of the two colors. The older grades voted for the presidential candidates and also voted on important election issues that they’ve been focusing on in class. Each RYNJ class had the chance to come to their “polling place” and each student entered into a real voting booth to cast his or her ballot. RYNJ students really got into the election spirit, learned a lot about the election process and took their civic responsibilities seriously.
