The Youth Department of Congregation Ahavat Achim in Fair Lawn assembled 109 backpacks filled with school supplies for low-income children as part of Jewish Federation’s Mitzvah Day. They also decorated 36 cards that will be given to senior citizens. Members of the youth department involved the entire congregation in the project, encouraging every member to purchase pencils, notebooks, rulers and other needed materials.
