Ben Porat Yosef first and second graders enjoyed a visit with the Living Legacy havdalah program on Tuesday, November 15. Before making their own havdalah candles, the students discussed the metaphor of Shabbat as a guest and queen that are welcomed into homes each week. They learned that just as people take the time to prepare special foods to welcome Shabbat, they also make Havdalah with a special candle to signify its conclusion.
