“Our strength is good quality basics at great prices,” said Morris Beyda, co-owner. “We are maintaining and strengthening the window department, which Marburn is known for, and in addition bringing in a bigger assortment of merchandise to enhance the shopping experience. I’m in the market buying every week, so there’s new merchandise arriving every week. We took down a large office in the back of the store and added the space to the sales floor, so now it’s a spacious 12,000 square foot store.”

Beyda has been in the retail business for over 30 years. He worked with his father and now he works with his son. Beyda speaks to store managers weekly who give him feedback on what customers are buying and what needs to be added. The knowledgeable, helpful sales staff is one of Marburn’s great strengths. “That’s one of the things that I was impressed with when we bought the Marburn stores,” said Beyda. “Each manager is a diamond. The sales staff is tremendous; they know what they’re doing and are very helpful to customers.”

Marburn has supplies you always need. Women’s items include tops and bottoms, hosiery, handbags, undergarments and footwear. For men, Marburn has jeans, tee-shirts, sweatshirts and every day shirts. Popular items are always in stock and available. “We have good connections with some of the top vendors in the business so we have a very good replenishment system,” said Beyda. “We try to maintain all the colors and sizes so people can always find what they need.”

Marburn has the largest assortment of curtains and accessories in the area at much lower prices than larger department stores. With such a large selection of different styles, Beyda said people are coming in and buying for four, five and six windows at a time.
