This year’s Yom Hazikaron program carried a profound sense of sorrow, especially in light of the events of October 7 and the ongoing war. Ma’ayanot’s program featured a moving ceremony during which students learned the stories of soldiers and civilians who lost their lives in recent months.
Following the ceremony, students watched the film “Heroes of October 7th” by Unpacked for Educators and then visited a memorial room showcasing the events in chronological order, concluding with a message of hope and resilience. The program ended with students and faculty writing personal letters of hope and prayer.
Thank you to the Hebrew department and the 10th and 11th grade students for organizing and presenting the program and a special thanks to juniors Ayelet Poupko and Sophie Fine for all their hard work on making the ceremony so meaningful.
