BPY seventh graders visited the New York Historical Society, on Wednesday, December 28, to see an exhibit called “The First Jewish Americans.” This activity enhanced the students’ study of colonial times. They learned about, and viewed, a Torah that was desecrated by British troops, which happened to be open to one of the teacher’s bar mitzvah parshas, making history truly personal for the students.
