Jewish Link Publisher Visits Brownie Troop 96887

On Sunday, January 8, members of Brownie Troop 96887 met with Moshe Kinderlehrer, co-publisher of The Jewish Link of New Jersey, and learned about the newspaper and how to write an article. Mr. Kinderlehrer shared with the girls the story of how he started the newspaper, how it is published each week and its role in the community.

During the troop meeting, the girls explored the “who, when, where, what and why” method of writing. After learning that method, the participants did an article outline, laid out their article with photos and wrote the article text.

The troop is shomer Shabbat and meets approximately twice a month on Sunday afternoons. The troop meetings are graciously hosted by Congregation Shaare Tefilah of Teaneck. The troop is a low-cost, low-key activity for girls in first through third grade.

For more information about the troop, contact Judith Bachman, Esq. at [email protected].
