In addition to special in-class activities, students at Rabbi Pesach Raymon Yeshiva observed Martin Luther King Jr. Day with a play performed by the fifth grade for the first grade classes. The play educated students about the civil rights movement in the US, and was followed by a guided discussion and “Treat Everyone With Respect” craft project. Teaching students consideration and respect for others, in this case within the context of US history, is a foundational principle of RPRY’s education.
