Torah Academy of Bergen County celebrated the achievements of their graduating seniors this past Thursday evening, June 6. After the national anthems were performed by Mr. Jacob Spadaro, the director of TABC’s Studio 1600, Tehillim were recited, and members of the senior class sang a beautiful rendition of Mi Sheberach L’Chayalei Tzahal. Head of School Rabbi Shlomo Stochel then welcomed the hundreds of family and friends in attendance and introduced the evening’s speakers. Following Rabbi Stochel, co-valedictorian Micah Cyrulnik delivered his valedictory address, speaking eloquently about kiddushei Hashem and how TABC has prepared the seniors to make kiddushei Hashem b’pharhesya (in public) as they leave the friendly halls of their yeshiva. His classmate Ilan Nissel then made a siyum on behalf of his shiur’s completion of Masechet Brachot and recited the Hadran. After a touching faculty video tribute to the class, co-valedictorian Gilad Jutkowitz delivered his valedictory address which focused on the famous verse in Pirkei Avos: “Im ein ani li, mi li? u’kshe’ani l’atzmi ma ani?” and discussed the dual lessons of individual empowerment and communal unity that defined the class’ four years at TABC. Finally, Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Joshua Kahn shared divrei bracha before he was joined by Rabbi Stochel to award the seniors their diplomas. The members of the Class of 2024 now join the ranks of thousands of distinguished TABC graduates and a close-knit alumni community. Mazal tov!
