Yeshivat He’Atid Studies Idioms

While reading “Phantom Tollbooth” by Norton Juster and discussing many different examples of figurative language throughout the story, Yeshivat He’Atid fifth grade students were tasked with taking pictures of idioms that represented both their literal and figurative definitions. The students “put their heads together,” didn’t have a “big head,” and weren’t “full of hot air” as they created slides that showed the various meanings. A lot of laughing could be heard throughout the classroom as the idioms literally and figuratively came to life.
