(Courtesy of JFSCNJ) Friends, family and community leaders gathered at the Jewish Family Service of Central New Jersey’s Halpern building in Elizabeth on June 5 to celebrate the naming of the Toby Goldberger Kosher Meals on Wheels program.
The naming of the program in Goldberger’s honor was a result of a generous gift from Goldberger’s nephew and niece, David and Lori Moore of New York City, to alleviate the waiting list for the program, which currently serves 130 homebound frail elderly with seven meals a week.
The naming also coincided with the purchase of a new specially equipped vehicle with funding from the E.J. Grassmann Trust, The Hyde and Watson Foundation, Phillips 66 Bayway Refinery, the Karma Foundation and the Union Foundation.
“We are truly grateful to all of the funders of the program which include the Union County Division on Aging-Union County Board of County Commissioners, The Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany, and the City of Elizabeth,” stated JFSCNJ.
