From May 25 through June 4, Shefa’s eighth graders were on their annual trip to Israel. This year’s trip, imbued with special meaning given the ongoing war, took the students on multiple chesed adventures—from Save a Child’s Heart, to Tikkun Olam Makers, to the Jaffa Institute and more. From memorably beautiful (and challenging!) hikes and Shabbat in the desert, to sombering visits to Hostage Square and Yad Vashem— and so much more! Before going to the Kotel, every student wrote their own personal prayers and took the prayers from younger students to place between the stones. There are too many stories, experiences and memories to recount but suffice to say, it was an exceptionally meaningful trip for students and staff alike and one whose imprint will not soon be forgotten!
