Bris Avrohom Celebrates Rabbi Mordechai Kanelsky’s Birthday

Celebrating with members of the Russian community.

(Courtesy of Bris Avrohom) The Lubavitcher Rebbe advised to celebrate one’s birthday with friends and joy and to make new resolutions in Torah and mitzvos. As such, Rabbi Mordechai Kanelsky celebrated his birthday with family, friends, community members and supporters of the Russian Jewish community. Many of the people who attended shared their history and the positive personal impacts that Bris Avrohom and the Kanelskys had on their lives.

This year, in honor of the 50th anniversary since the Rebbe proclaimed the mitzvah of mezuzah, and in light of the situation in Israel, Rabbi Kanelsky explained to all who participated the importance of having kosher mezuzos on every door and to have them checked periodically to make sure their kashrus is up to par.

Celebrating with members of the shul.

Rabbi Kanelsky shared stories of the Rebbe pertaining to mezuzah regarding health and protection. In addition, he proclaimed a campaign, that in honor of his birthday a minimum total of 640 mezuzahs be purchased this year and a minimum total of 6,400 mezuzos be checked. In the merit of increasing God’s commandment in the mitzvah of mezuzah, we will receive the blessings which mezuzah provides, as it is written, “God will guard you inside the home as well as outside.”

If you would like a representative of Bris Avrohom to come and check your mezuzos, please contact 908-289-0770.
