Over the past few weeks, the third grade at Yeshivat He’Atid has been learning about simple machines. An integral element of project based learning is to solve real-world problems, and students have spent the last few weeks researching the following essential questions. How can students apply knowledge to create games for indoor recess? How do simple machines help in daily lives? Students explored the topic of simple machines in great depth. Creating the actual games for the third grade to use during inside recess enhanced the learning even further. The collaboration among each group and the creativity has been remarkable.
