Ben Porat Yosef fifth grade students completed impressive Maker projects after learning about electricity and circuitry. Students chose to create a project using a Makey Makey, a paper circuit, or any other materials from their earlier studies, having been challenged with the goal of “making something that does something using circuitry.” The range of projects students worked on, as well as the strategies they utilized to solve any challenges they encountered, were expansive and deeply creative. While they were successful in their creations, they also enjoyed the work while learning to become critical thinkers, engaged learners and independent scholars.
