RKYHS was thrilled to host the seventh annual Battle of the Bands. The entirely student-run event featured bands from RKYHS and from many other yeshivot in the tri-state area. The event was a fundraiser for OneFamily, a foundation that helps families who were victims of terror attacks throughout Israel. It was a very social and successful event, with more than 400 people attending from RKYHS and many other schools, as well as a large number of parents.

Bands practiced for months to prepare for the big stage and were really excited to come and perform. With a student committee in charge of planning the program, it gave a chance for the kids to be hands-on and run the event. Each band played two songs and were received by the booming crowd cheering them on, with one team crowned the winner at the end of the night. Congratulations to the band ‘Exit 9’ featuring RKYHS students David Wolkoff and Jordan Dyckman, who placed first in this year’s competition.

This year’s Battle of the Bands continued the momentum of previous years, filled with the positive energy of the students attending and those performing. The night was a huge success in raising money for such a worthy tzedaka.
