RYNJ students in second and fourth grade recently participated in a beautiful letter writing campaign to Israeli soldiers. The students wrote heartfelt notes to soldiers who were stationed all across Israel on Purim day, with messages of thanks and achdut. They decorated them with colorful pictures and gold heart stickers that said “thank you.” The letters were sent to Israel where each one was included in a package containing toiletries, hats, shirts, snacks and other items. The soldiers were greatly encouraged by these letters and, in fact, they sent back pictures of themselves in uniform holding the letters written by the RYNJ children. One of the soldiers said, “After receiving my letter, it felt like the waves of love coming from across the ocean to embrace me.”
