The Humble Toast Sportstar Of the Week: Aharon Moradi

The Jewish Link and The Humble Toast would like to recognize Aharon Moradi as this week’s Sportstar of the Week. The 8 year old from Hillside is coming off of a spring season where his team won the championship, going undefeated 14-0. He tied on the team for the highest batting average, he was the best pitcher and played shortstop as well. In travel baseball this summer, his 8U Elmora Troopers team won their district, section, and made it to the states semi-final! They lost in the semis last month, but being the third best 8 year-old team in the entire state of New Jersey is pretty amazing!

Aharon, congratulations on being recognized as this week’s sportstar of the week. Who is your role model and why?

My role model is my family. My father works hard taking care of people, but always plays with me when he gets home and coaches my games. My mother makes me good suppers and brings me to all my practices and games. My older brothers are always at my games to cheer me on and practice baseball with me in our backyard.

What is your favorite sport?

My favorite sport is baseball because it’s very fun to play on a team and cheer on my teammates.

What is your greatest sports accomplishment?

My greatest sports accomplishment was being the starting pitcher in our second game of states and pitching two and a third innings and not giving up any hits or runs.

Who is your favorite athlete and why?

My favorite athlete is Elly De La Cruz because he is fast and fun to watch. He also sometimes plays shortstop, which is my main position.

What is your earliest sports memory?

My earliest sports memory is playing with a small glove and trying to catch pop ups from my brothers.

What is your favorite sports memory?

My favorite sports memory is winning the championship this spring and when I saw Aaron Judge hit a walk off home run against the Astros two years ago in the 10th inning.

What is your funniest sports memory?

My funniest sports memory was watching Jose Trevino pitch in a Yankees game.

What do you like to do when you are not playing sports?

My favorite things to do when I am not playing sports are reading, coloring and playing with my brothers and friends.

What is your pregame routine?

My pregame routine is stretching, throwing, hitting in the batting cage, and getting a pep talk from my coaches.

What is the best thing about being a Sportstar?

The best thing about being a Sportstar is being famous.

The Humble Toast Star of the week will receive a $25 gift card to The Humble Toast. Please send nominees for an upcoming The Humble Toast Jewish Link Stars of the Week to [email protected].
