Winston Prep: Your Child Can Learn, They Just Learn Differently

(Courtesy of Winston Prep) Are you struggling to find a supportive environment that meets your child’s learning needs? Winston Preparatory School New Jersey, located in Morris County, offers an individualized learning environment for students ages 8-21 with learning differences, such as dyslexia, ADHD and nonverbal learning disorder (NVLD).

Unlike other schools, Winston Prep groups students based on their learning difficulty, skill level, and educational and social-emotional needs. Before students spend their first day at Winston Prep, the faculty spend weeks designing an academic program specific to their needs. They believe what matters most is developing a deep understanding of how your child learns and then creating the right environment to help the child reach their full potential. As a result, students see Winston Prep as the right place for them, where their individual strengths are nurtured and where they will learn how to understand and address their challenges.

“Sitting in class I finally started raising my hand and for the first time ever, I asked to read out loud because I was willing to step beyond the curtains. Winston gave me the chance to grow as a person and experience new opportunities. I became more focused on learning and taking pride in excelling in my academic work, along with becoming more self-confident in reading and everything else I do. I built skills like time management, social responsibility, self-advocacy and resilience.” -Winston Prep alumnus

Another dynamic part of Winston Prep’s model of research-based teaching methods is the innovative Focus Program. The school’s expert teachers work one-to-one with students every day to address areas of greatest need, to help them develop their own understanding of how they learn and to nurture their unique strengths and help students fully take advantage of them.

Student life on campus is a vibrant blend of academics, social connections, extracurricular activities, service learning, athletics, and visual and performing arts programs. These opportunities not only foster essential skill development but also contribute to the overall dynamic and robust community at Winston Prep.

Winston Prep New Jersey accepts students on a rolling basis throughout the school year. The best way to learn more about all Winston Prep has to offer is by attending an Open House.
