Students gathered in the lobby to welcome MDS’ new Shlichim Avner and Emuna, with banners, flags, music and plenty of ruach! Developing a deep love and strong commitment to the State of Israel is a core tenet of the MDS mission. The new shlichim, and bnot sherut Rachel and Lital along with Morah Lital and returning shlichim Shira and Omri, infuse Hebrew language, Jewish identity and Israeli culture into programs throughout the year, strengthening students’ connection to Israel. This vital program would not have been possible without the gracious and generous support of the Gibber family, and the Kolatch/Helmreich families in memory of Dr. William Helmreich z”l, MDS Class of ‘59, and an anonymous donor.
