Nissim Black Performs at Binghamton U. As Part of ‘Let HERE Be Light’ Tour

(Courtesy of Chabad of Binghamton) Students at Binghamton University received a warm welcome for the new academic year as one of the stops on Chabad on Campus International’s Let HERE Be Light tour, which is visiting 50 campuses across North America.

Chabad of Binghamton hosted the upbeat traveling Jewish festival, which included a live concert by American-Israeli Chasidic Jewish rapper and influencer Nissim Black, a special memorial for the six hostages who were brutally murdered, dozens of Jewish crafts and workshops, and delicious desserts for all.

The Let HERE Be Light tour is about bringing positive vibes to Jewish students and the greater campus community after the challenging climate they faced last year on campuses nationwide. With a focus on joy, Jewish pride and positivity, the tour seeks to uplift and bring light to the entire campus.

“We are so excited to host the Let HERE Be Light tour,” said Rabbi Sruly Ohana, director of engagement and co-director of programming at Chabad of Binghamton “This is a chance for students of all backgrounds to celebrate Jewish life with fun, hands-on, memorable experiences that will shine throughout the year.”

The tour is traveling along four routes and visiting 50 campuses throughout 18 states in the U.S. and Canada. At each stop, a branded tour van operated by rabbinical students will roll onto campus and offer Jewish crafts hands-on workshops and displays, kosher food, mitzvah giveaways, a tefillin booth, Jewish music and a raffle with prizes.

Of course, the Nissim Black concert was a highlight of the event for Binghamton students, who congregated on the lawn to sing and dance along with the performer in a show of Jewish unity.
