On Wednesday, April 26, Bergen County held its Annual Holocaust Memorial Day at One Bergen County Plaza. County Executive James Tedesco, III made a proclamation for the event, and the welcome remarks were given by Rabbi Mordechai Kanelsky, executive director of Bris Avrohom. Claire Kahane, a Holocaust survivor descendant and one of Bris Avrohom’s prominent supporters, was honored as one of the candle lighters. The event was attended by Bergen County’s Board of Chosen Freeholders and other elected officials and the audience was entertained by the Yavneh Academy Choir of Paramus.
