On Thursday, May 2nd, students from Moriah took first-place honors in the Math Masters Tournament hosted by Kushner Hebrew Academy in Livingston, NJ. The team—Mark Abramovitz, Yehuda Koslowe, Hillel Koslowe, Eliana Herzog and Ayelet Rubenstein—made Moriah proud as they competed with eight other teams, including YNJ and Kushner, in a team event and an individual round.
In addition to winning the team competition, the top three individual scorers of all participating schools took home trophies. Mark and Yehuda earned first and second place honors, respectively. It was a great accomplishment for the students and an outstanding display of the kind of higher-level thinking that Moriah’s math department strives to promote.
